Kaiser Aluminum: A Legacy of Innovation
Kaiser Aluminum, a titan of the American aluminum industry since 1946, played a pivotal role in World War II production. Capitalizing on government investment, Kaiser acquired key facilities in Washington state, including the Mead reduction plant and the Trentwood rolling mill (now Spokane Valley). The Trentwood facility, strategically located away from the coast for wartime safety, has since become the largest flat-rolled aluminum mill in the western US.

ControlFreek Inc.: Contributing to Modernization
ControlFreek Inc. is proud to have partnered with Kaiser Aluminum in their ongoing modernization efforts. Our projects spanned various areas, from critical metal temperature controls to industrial crane operations. A notable example involved a massive ingot upender, a key component for precisely positioning and heating aluminum ingots.
Precise Temperature Control: The Heart of the Process
Ensuring consistent and precise temperature control throughout the production process is paramount for Kaiser Aluminum. CFI collaborated with local engineering firms to design and build temperature control panels. These UL-508 certified enclosures housed dual-bank receptacles for monitoring temperature inputs across the facility. Notably, the monitoring panel incorporated secure wireless Ethernet telemetry, allowing for real-time monitoring from a central control booth.
