Integrated Biomass Platform Residue Management System

A platform to convert farm waste into energy and valuable biochar.

Spokane, WA 2015

Ag Energy Solutions’ innovative Integrated Biomass Platform (IBP) offers a practical solution for converting farm waste into renewable energy and valuable biochar. This self-contained, transportable system addresses the growing demand for fertilizer, fuel, and energy, significantly reducing reliance on traditional resources. Designed for flexibility, the IBP fits within a 20-foot shipping container and includes optional input/output modules tailored to specific biomass types and economic needs.

Utilizing gasification and generator technologies coupled with modern automated control systems, the IBP provides a safe and efficient way to manage agricultural residue. ControlFreek was instrumental in the design, construction, and installation of the IBP’s electrical control systems, ensuring reliable operation and seamless integration. The system’s mobility allows farmers to easily relocate it to the source of biomass, eliminating the need for permanent structures and simplifying logistics.

The IBP’s modular design allows for customization based on individual farm needs. Farmers can integrate a Renewable Electricity System (RES) to convert biomass-generated syngas into electricity, providing power for irrigation pumps, homesteads, or even grid connection for selling excess energy. This comprehensive approach empowers farmers to manage waste effectively, generate renewable energy, and create valuable biochar, all while contributing to a more sustainable agricultural ecosystem.
