Brewery Automation & Flow Meters for Orlison Brewing

Brewery automation engineering provide quick reboot of local brewery.

Orlison Brewing Co. Airway Heights, WA 2008 thru 2018

Orlison Brewing Company, a prominent name in Eastern Washington, emerged from the rebranding of Golden Hills Brewing in 2009. Driven by a strategic investment from founders Orlin Reinbold and Jason Miller, Orlison carved a unique path in the competitive craft beer market. While many breweries in the region focused on ales, Orlison championed the art of lager brewing, a more challenging and time-consuming process. This distinctive approach, coupled with significant investments in updated equipment and advanced brewery automation, positioned Orlison for increased production and consistent high-quality brews.

Throughout Orlison’s journey, CFI played a crucial role. In early 2009, we engineered and implemented a central operations station, equipping the brewery with advanced automation controls. This system monitored critical parameters like temperature and pressure across the brewing process, from mash tuns to kettles. Schneider Electric Square D VFDs, integrated with Allen-Bradley motor circuit protectors, precisely controlled pumps and agitators. The panel was designed with future expansion in mind, anticipating the brewery’s growth trajectory.

In 2014, CFI further supported Orlison by installing and integrating Niagara Series MTX flow meters with infrared transmitters. This enhanced the brewery’s operational efficiency and ensured the continuous flow of high-quality lager to the Inland Northwest.

Having begun our collaboration with Golden Hills, we are proud of our contribution to Orlison Brewing Company’s success and their vision for the future.
